support tuition and living expenses for 1-2 students pursuing advanced,
immersive Arabic study.

anthropology, political science, etc).
* Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of practical skill as

2. Lecturer in Persian (part-time)

The Middle East and North African Studies Program (MENA) at Northwestern University invites applicants for a position of Lecturer in Persian language. This is a part-time, non-benefits-eligible position starting September 1, 2017. Duties include teaching language courses in first- and second-year Persian, altogether six quarter-length courses, over one academic year. This is a non-tenure-line position, with an initial contract of one year, renewable based on performance.
For fullest consideration, application materials must be received by May 19, 2017. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, and the position is open until filled.
3. Assistant Teaching Professor of Arabic
The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor of Arabic, starting in August 2017, on a three-year contract, pending satisfactory review after the first year. Ph.D. in hand by Summer 2017 is required.
Applicants should be experienced in proficiency based, communicative methods of teaching Modern Standard Arabic and spoken Arabic at all levels, and are expected to have a solid grounding in classical Arabic language and culture.
Preferred areas of specialization: Modern or Classical Arabic and Islamic humanities, including linguistics, literature, and cultural studies. Experience in proficiency testing is a plus.
